This is a city that has suffered from earthquakes.
On May 12, 2008, a massive earthquake struck Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, and all the surrounding cities were more or less affected by the quake. I was only six years old at the time, and the disaster happened eight days before my birthday, which was the most unforgettable birthday of my life.
The earthquake also devastated the county of Beichuan. People were unable to repair the buildings destroyed by the earthquake because of the difficulties. This place, which is supported by tourism, will be difficult to develop economically after 2020 because of the new crown epidemic.
This time I traveled to Beichuan to support poor students. They only have to pay 200 dollars a year for compulsory education, which is an exorbitant amount of money for all of them. Many of the families here have only elderly people and children.while the young and middle-aged people have gone out to work and do not return home for many years. The houses of many families are located in the mountains where there are no roads. I can’t imagine how they put up with this, and my heart goes out to them.
